The colorful stripes make it the red, white, and blue Americans are proud of and will surely put a smile on the guests faces. You’ll be happy to know that they’re REALLY EASY to make, too. All you need to recreate these pops at home are blueberries, coconut milk, strawberries, water and sugar.

If you don’t have any popscicle molds, don’t worry–you can use paper or plastic cups and they will work just fine!

4th of July patriotic popsicles recipe

Ingredients:

Blue Stripe:

  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Blue food coloring (optional)

White Stripe:

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 tsp sugar

Red Stripe:

Mix about a cup of strawberries in the food processor and add some water to make about 1 and 1/3 cup.

Directions:

For the blue layer, mix all ingredients together and place in a food processor.

Pour the blueberry mixture about a third of the way up into each of 10 popsicle molds. Freeze molds until almost frozen solid, then remove from freezer and place a stick into each, so that it anchors into the blue layer. Return to the freezer and freeze until completely solid.

For the white layer, whisk together the coconut milk and the sugar until smooth. Add the coconut milk to each popsicle mold, filling it, you guessed it, another one third of the way. Return to the freezer and freeze until completely solid. This generally takes about 2 hours.

For the red layer, mix the strawberries in a small food processor. Add a little bit of water to make about 1 1/3 cups.

Fill each of the molds with the strawberry mixture, and place back the freezer to finish freezing.

Here’s a cool trick to remove the pops from the molds without damaging them:

Remove the pops by filling your sink with hot tap water and immersing the mold up to the top lip for approximately 15 seconds. Remove the popsicles and enjoy immediately, or wrap in waxed paper and place in freezer baggies for later.
