When a little girl screamed at the school crossing, Adrian Young, the school crossing guard for Alexandria Elementary School.
The little girl yelled, “Please don’t let her take me. I don’t know her. She’s not my mom,” according to Young. Immediately, Young ran to help the little girl.
Young said, “I just told her to grab onto me as tight as she could. I held onto her and the woman began to attack me, so I just thought about attacking her to make sure she can’t take this little girl.”
When there are good people around, good things can always happen, no matter how big or small those brave people may be. For instance, Young is only 4’8″ tall. Using all her strength, she was able to protect this little girl from who knows what horrors. She may have saved the little girl’s life. The kidnapper, identified as Maria Ramirez, is now held on a $100,000 bail.
The hero was honored in a surprise ceremony at the school. The girl’s mother was there to express her gratitude. “If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t know where my daughter would be.”
A scary story but thankfully, with a happy ending. Miracles do happen.
