Dad Spends 18 Months Finishing Daughter’s Fairytale Treehouse Bedroom

Most girls love fairy tales, so this little girl’s super daddy decided to create a fairytale treehouse bedroom for his little girl. He put in about 350 hours over the course of 18 months, and spent about $4250 on the project. The tree in the home is so strong it’s capable of supporting up to three adults at a time.

The super dad is also of Reddit user, known as radamshome, and is also an artist in the video game industry. His daughter loves her new bedroom, and he’s very proud of his work. His only fear is when she grows up and out of it.

See the step-by-step process…

“My daughter wanted a fairy tree in her room that she could sit inside and read books”

“I was kind of unprepared for the physical realities of this project….” Not everyone understands what’s involved at first.

18 months and 350 hours were spent to complete the project. This is the before picture.

Radamshome began with a concept drawing and a scale model.

He took welding courses to make the tree skeleton structurally safe and sound

It took about 100-120 hours to complete only the skeleton!!!

More than 50 hours were needed to apply the wire “skin” to the rebar

A special mixture of cement was used for the tree trunk. Papier-mâché for the branches. Total time to this point: 225 hours

He used to paint miniatures as a teenager, so he used the same techniques to paint the tree

He wove dimming Christmas lights into the branches to simulate stars

The details and tree decorations were bought at a Michael’s art supply store

The tree can actually support three adults!

Well done!!!
